What a fun and amazing game! These boys were locked in and ready to finish things up. After the opening game loss, the Falcons responded with a win at Oak Grove and then cruised to an early-inning-win, 14-4 after a huge 6-run 5th inning with 2 outs still to give. When the final run scored with a bases-loaded walk, the entire stadium held their breath as each Falcon advanced and touched the bags, sending the home team to the NCHSAA 3A State Championship game!
Every player has a role this season, and every one of them did everything right to get their victory and advance. Very few players – even Hall of Famers – ever get this opportunity, and I am so proud of all of these young men who have earned this victory and opportunity to win State!
Congratulations, Falcons. And good luck next weekend. This entire community is so proud of you!
