The mountains of Asheville are some of the most beautiful in the world. Nestled inside these hills, just off the famous Blue Ridge Parkway is the hidden gem of the area: The North Carolina Arboretum in Asheville, North Carolina. This sanctuary, fulfilling Frederic Law Olmstead’s long-term vision of a local research arboretum connected to the nearby Biltmore Estate, is full of well-maintained trails, seasonal flower gardens, and beautiful views of the surrounding mountains. Since it borders the Blue Ridge Parkway, it is a popular destination for parkway travelers.
And the NC Arboretum is a perfect place for your senior portraits! The trails offer colorful trees in all seasons as backdrops for your session. The quilt garden is full of maintained flowers that will compliment both men and women in a beautiful setting, and the wide grassy fields offer fun settings for all kinds of scenes. Its even possible to capture some deer in the background that will further make your portraits unique! This is the perfect environment to create Senior Portraits, not senior pictures.
This past Spring, June and her family joined me at the Arboretum for some professional senior portraits that captured her whimsical style and gave us tons of different looks for her album. The wall art she got from this session is some of my favorite images ever. The grounds gave us ample opportunity to get shots of her and her family that they will cherish forever. The family had such a great time that we are heading back to get family portraits of her family this fall!
