On a cool Friday night under the lights at Johnson Field, the West Henderson Falcons kicked off their season with a performance that could only be described as electric—right up until the lights went out. With a commanding 51-33 lead over Newton-Conover, the Falcons had already set the tone for the season before the stadium was plunged into an unexpected darkness midway through the fourth quarter. Yet, even as the lights flickered and faded, there was no dimming the Falcons’ message: they are back, strong, and ready to conquer the gridiron, from county play to the state championships.
Congratulations to West Henderson on their big victory, as they prepare for their first County Rivalry game against Hendersonville on Friday, August 30 at Johnson Field!
I’ve posted over 200 photos of the action – and darkness – for you to enjoy below!
