Wow. West Henderson baseball has been fantastic this season. However, most of the games I’ve seen have been, well, blowouts. That changed Thursday night where the Falcons faced the Tigers from Foard High School. The Tigers and Falcons were deadlocked throughout the game. The Tigers would get baserunners but were constantly foiled by the absolute incredible pitching by Truitt Manual. The Falcons were able to get their baserunners and advance them to third on a few occasions but had trouble against the Tigers’ excellent pitching and were left scoreless as well.
Until the bottom of the 6th. By using what West Henderson has done all season, the team worked together to get on base and advance the runners around. Then things broke loose and with 2 outs the Falcons were able to advance 2 runners to home, closing out the 6th inning with a 2-0 lead. Another excellent half-inning of pitching from Manual and a closing pitching performance by Jackson Duchesne capped off the victory by the Falcons who will host again in the 3rd Round of the State Playoffs.
