I really enjoyed spending a winter Saturday afternoon at Hendersonville Middle School watching the Hendersonville High Boys Basketball teams host Franklin High School. The JV game had a very exciting 4th quarter that had the HHS Bearcats coming from behind to tie the game and send it to overtime. I arrived as that major rally happened, and was so happy I did – and I was able to watch the Bearcats win in OT.
In each game I’ve watched Hendersonville play, I have been amazed at their relentless press. Most teams can handle the full-court play for a series or two, but after 10 minutes of constant pressure, I’ve seen coaches count the jerseys to see if more than 5 Bearcats are on the floor defending them. The number of turnovers caused by this press was very impressive. Scouting tip: If you are about to play Hendersonville, practice moving the ball against a D of 20+ players!
