Oh. My. Goodness.
What a game! West Henderson hosted the defending 3A State Champions Saturday afternoon, and once again proved that they are a team that simply won’t give up. After winning the first set, the Falcons were down 2-1 against the team that knocked them out of the playoffs last season. But these young women showed no fear. They simply went to work and won the 4th and 5th sets to advance to Round 5.
Marvin Ridge played an incredible game. Their hitters and blockers were fast and effective. However, the Falcons made some critical adjustments – playing in a way I haven’t seen them play this season – and took control of the game. Coach Lowrance rallied her team and managed the pace of the game – keeping the Maverics off guard. The West players were not rattled at all under the circumstances and avoided frustrating errors. The services were strong and in play, offering the Falcons some aces along the way. The volleys between the team would last a while, with neither team able to dominate the net due to incredible defensive play.
This seems to be a team of destiny. They are scrappy. They are talented. They are not afraid to take the court in any circumstance. They are incredible.
So proud of your hard work, and incredible progress this season! Now, let’s go win Round 5!
