Friday night proved to be an incredible night for football in Henderson County. North and East battled it out on the gridiron in what had to be an exciting game with 13 touchdowns. And the rivalry game between Hendersonville and West Henderson proved to be just as exciting. The Bearcats are ranked high in state rankings and are preseason favorites to go deep in the playoffs, and deservedly so. However, the Falcons were not going to roll over on the Bearcats. As they went into halftime, the Falcons were down 14-7 but had confidence. As they came out of the break, the Falcons tied the score at 14. Then with two very exciting touchdowns: Tristan Thomas on a pick 6 and a fun trick pass to QB Dalton Cole in the end zone, the Falcons found themselves up going into the final minutes. The Bearcats were able to fight back and scored two fast Touchdowns, the second with just 12 seconds on the clock, and took the game with a final score of 29-28.
Although the Falcons fell, they played well, and the coaching staff and players put on a great show that the excited the large crowd. Congratulations to the Bearcats. What a great night for football!
